Paul Daley was walking into hostile territory Saturday night in San Diego. The fans may have been in the 619, but they brought the atmosphere of Stockton, California to the Valley View Casino Center. It was clear that Paul Daley was public enemy number one and they couldn’t wait to see Mr. 209 himself, Nick Diaz enter the six-sided cage. As soon as Diaz made his walk into the cage, the whole arena exploded. This was the main event and the first major Strikeforce event under ZUFFA’s rule. Even UFC president
The last episode of The Ultimate Fighter season 13, let’s be honest. It was probably the most boring episode of TUF I’ve ever seen and I’ve been watching the series since the very beginning. The fighters don’t have to fight their way into the house this season and for 45 minutes of our time we had to watch them run on treadmills. And we can’t forget the 2 round wrestlefest of Sharmar Bailey vs. Nordin Ashrih with Sharmar getting the unanimous decision. Like I said not the most fun episode, but it’s just
Bellator Welterweight Champion Ben “Funky” Askren will step inside the Bellator cage this Saturday, fighting MMA veteran Nick Thompson at the main event of the night. Askren won the Bellator Season Three Welterweight Tournament (def. Dan Hornbuckle) last year, then capturing the Bellator Welterweight title from the hands of Lyman Good at Bellator 33.”Funky” is 7-0 in his Mixed Martial Arts career, and is considered as one of the most decorated Wrestlers in the sport today. Muhammed Lawal better known as King Mo is one of the most accomplished freestyle wrestlers to ever make the jump to Mixed Martial Arts. Mo was a Division One NCAA All-American wrestler for Oklahoma State University and at one time was even the number one ranked wrestler in the US in the -96kg division. When the King failed to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic games, he took his skills from the mat, and applied them to MMA.
He flew to Japan, made his debut at Sengoku 5, and has never looked back since.
There’s no doubt about the future belonging to the young. From Heavyweight to Bantamweight, here’s a list of seven future UFC Champions. And as always, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.Heavyweight: Stefan Struve Age: 23 Record: 21-4

The city of Philadelphia, best known through the world as “the city of brotherly love”. Home of the famous cheese steak sandwiches, the Philadelphia Phillies, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. But the city of Philadelphia is also known for their fighting culture. The Philly Style of boxing is known through out the world. “The Executioner” Bernard Hopkins is a legend in the sweet science and probably the city’s best known fighter. But for the non-boxing fans when you think of
In one month, with over 55,000 fans attending, the UFC will take their promotion to the next level. This will be the largest live crowd to view a UFC event ever.
The sport of Mixed Martial Arts has seen many great fighters and champions come and go, but only a few have cemented a legacy for the ages. I have selected five fighters, from their own respective divisions, that have not only claimed a title but shaped the sport as well. I did not add the Featherweight or the Bantamweight divisions due to the fact that most casual fans are not aware of their existence, and the divisions are relativity new compared to the five major weight divisions.
Heavyweight:
I was first introduced to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in 1994, when I was only six years old. My uncle owned an illegal Pay-Per-View black box and recorded all the early UFC events. Out of curiosity, I used to watch these recorded tapes. I was in awe of Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock, to me they were superheroes, Street Fighter II characters that came to life. I looked at these Ultimate Fighting Championship events as real life Bloodsport. Just like the movie, fighters of all styles, races, and cultures
