UFC President Dana White appeared on ESPN’s “Sportscenter” today in anticipation of the blockbuster Georges St-Pierre-Carlos Condit fight this weekend in Montreal. Not surprisingly, talk shifted to the idea of GSP fighting Anderson Silva in a much-publicized superfight. White was his usual bold self, and was quoted:
“Anderson Silva will be there this Saturday watching, and if St-Pierre wins it’ll be a huge fight for us. It’ll probably be the biggest fight in UFC history,
Speaking to MMAFighting.com, UFC interim Welterweight champ Carlos Condit waxes on a variety of topics surrounding his huge UFC 154 bout with Georges St-Pierre. Condit says that ring rust shouldn’t be as much a factor as many people think, but he does wonder about the strength o GSP’s surgically repaired knee. He touches on the subject of Anderson Silva being at the fight, and how many may be focused on GSP’s future superfight with Silva rather than the task at hand in Condit. The Natural Born Killer

The injury curse in the UFC continues, as Shane Carwin is forced to withdraw from his fight with Roy Nelson due to a knee injury. UFC President Dana White tweeted a news, also adding that the Ultimate Fighting Championship are now looking for a replacement.
Interestingly enough, MMAWeekly.com reported back in September that Carwin has injured his knee, but will still compete against Roy Nelson. “The Engineer” then appeared on Inside MMA, threating Roy Nelson with a knockout
As long-standing Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre prepares to return to the Octagon after almost 19 months away, it becomes important to remember what got GSP to the lofty status he sits today. There has been much talk surrounding GSP’s inability to finish opponents as of late, his tendency to fight very safe, and questions surrounding his severe knee injury. Just as Anderson Silva suggests that he may take a year off, Michael Bisping is already asking for an interim title fight.
News that had been swirling earlier has apparently been confirmed by Brazilian site SporTV, as UFC Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos has officially become sponsored by US-based sports apparel giant Nike. The deal will make JDS a member of a very select group of which fellow UFC champions Anderson Silva and Jon Jones are a part of. It also shows the amount of belief Nike has in MMA and will mark a huge step towards the advancement of the sport. Brazil is an area where MMA is absolutely booming right
The proposed Georges St-Pierre-Anderson Silva super fight had a monkey wrench thrown into it when Anderson Silva said he’s going to take a year off.
UFC Welterweight Mike Pierce is a man that gets little to no publicity in the stacked 170 lb. division. However, he is a fighter who never seems to go away and puts on close battles each time out to the Octagon. He is also an active fighter in a time when many are not, having fought three times in 2012. His first bout was a controversial loss to Josh Koscheck that he thought he had won, but he rebounded nicley by beating Carlos Eduardo Rocha and then knocking Aaron Simpson out cold last month. Pierce is not
Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez has been on a mission to prove himself the best Lightweight fighter in all of Mixed Martial Arts. With the exception of veteran warrior Pat Healy, Melendez has essentially cleaned out the Strikeforce Lightweight Division. In his last 7 fights, Josh Thomson has been the only one to defeat Melendez (unanimous decision), and Melendez has already gotten his win back twice, the first being a barn-burner of a fight at Strikeforce: Evolution, and the second being
