Patrick Cote re-signs with the UFC, will face Cung Le at UFC 148

With Rich Franklin stepping in to fight Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147 as a replacement for the injured Vitor Belfort, Cung Le was left without an opponent at UFC 148. That question has apparently been answered with the return of former UFC fighter Patrick Cote. Cote, a former title challenger who faced Anderson Silva back at UFC 90, was cut from the promotion in late 2010. Nick Diaz lost a hotly contested decision Saturday night to Carlos Condit. This no doubt has thrown the dynamo for a loop considering he would have had a date with GSP lined up had he taken the win (and the interim title). In fact, he seemed so disgusted with fighting after the way he lost the match that he subsequently retired from MMA.
