TUF 13 Diary: Episode 6 Recap and Analysis

Where has the time all gone? The month of April has ended and we are now just getting into May. The 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter is getting closer to it’s finale and what a season it has been so far. This hasn’t been the most exciting season in the history of the show, but it’s kind of a refreshing change to see the two coaches respect each other. The fights haven’t been memorable and the cast of fighters extremely predictable, but I’m still curious to see which fighters from the show could emerge

I was first introduced to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in 1994, when I was only six years old. My uncle owned an illegal Pay-Per-View black box and recorded all the early UFC events. Out of curiosity, I used to watch these recorded tapes. I was in awe of Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock, to me they were superheroes, Street Fighter II characters that came to life. I looked at these Ultimate Fighting Championship events as real life Bloodsport. Just like the movie, fighters of all styles, races, and cultures

Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez, who has been sidelined since capturing the title at UFC 121, talks about the progression of his shoulder injury and shares his thoughts on newly crowned Light Heavyweight champ Jon “Bones” Jones. Velasquez says fighting Jones “would be great,” but admits that returning to the octagon still seems “so far away.”

UFC 128: Mirko Cro Cop’s Last Chance

There is no doubt among hardcore fans and experts that Mirko Filipovic aka “Cro Cop” is a legend in the game and has left a huge imprint in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. Personally I don’t abide by that philosophy, but certain folks do and the endgame is always in one way or another “agree to disagree”. After some thoughts over this weekend I think I have a pretty good solution. Power rankings: Judging a fighter solely on t
