Sean Strickland Blasts Celebrity ‘Double Standards’ with Thinly Veiled Critique of Jon Jones

Sean Strickland

UFC star Sean Strickland has blasted celebrity double standards in what was an apparent shot at Jon Jones.

As we know, Sean Strickland is a pretty outspoken guy. He’s more than happy to ruffle some feathers with comments that, for a lot of people, would be deemed wrong or offensive. For the former middleweight champion, though, he doesn’t particularly care too much.

It doesn’t matter what the scenario is, either. It could be on social media, in the cage or during a press conference. If he has something to say, Sean Strickland is going to say it, and if it gets on your nerves, that’s just going to fuel him to do it even more.

As we know, Jon Jones is set to return to the octagon this weekend. He will defend the UFC heavyweight championship against Stipe Miocic in what is easily one of the biggest fights of the year in mixed martial arts.

In the following tweet, Strickland appears to take a shot at Jones – and while it isn’t confirmed, it certainly seems as if that’s who he is referencing here.

Sean Strickland speaks his mind

“It’s so odd to me how famous people get the free pass. Picture if I said “hello I want you to meet my friend bob”. But does steroids, Bob beats up women infront f kids, Bob hit a pregnant woman and drove away. You’d say “f*** bob” lmao society is very strange.”

A fan then suggested that he was calling out Jon Jones, and said “he’s[d?] smoke you”. Strickland replied with the following.

“Luckily I don’t think you can own a gun with a DV charge. F*** he plead down lol.”

For now, the focus for Sean Strickland will be on trying to reclaim the UFC middleweight championship that he lost courtesy of Dricus du Plessis.
