The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 Finale was initially supposed to see a TUF lightweight finals bout between Artem Lobov (11-11-1) and Saul Rogers. Due to a visa mishap, Rogers was forced off the card and replaced by Ryan Hall (5-1).

“The Wizard” took full advantage of the last minute opportunity.

Hall rolled to a heel hook attempt early in the first round. He quickly transitioned into a rear naked choke. “The Russian Hammer” avoided the submission, but “The Wizard” held his position. Hall maintained top control and landed some elbows as the first round came to a close.

Hall threw out kicks to keep Lobov at bay. Hall rolled once again, but this time “The Russian Hammer” avoided danger. Lobov wound up in top control. “The Wizard” rolled out of the position and the fight resumed standing. Hall kept pulling guard to threaten with his submissions. Lobov had virtually no offense even on top. Hall locked in a heel hook, but Lobov maintained control. The round ended with “The Wizard” searching for another heel hook.

“The Russian Hammer” whiffed an uppercut, but Hall was unable to secure a takedown. Hall rolled once again looking for a submission. “”The Wizard” pulled guard yet again and Lobov couldn’t pull the trigger in the guard. Hall stuck to his opponent like glue and latched onto the back of Lobov. He held on to the position until the end of the fight.

Final Result: Ryan Hall def. Artem Lobov via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-26)
