Ronda Rousey: Olympics Are Bubble Wrapped Pageants, Would Never Accept MMA

Ronda Rousey will look to solidify her status as the best female fighter on the globe tonight, as she squares off aagainst fellow undefeated bantamweight challenger Sara McMann. UFC 170 will mark the third consecutive UFC title defense should ‘Rowdy’ win, and the former Olympian already has the world in her palm.

With MMA being linked to the Olympics in recent news, and the Sochi winter Olympics proving a hit, Rousey sat down with Fightland to discuss MMA being accepted by the Olympics. Rousey won a bronze medal during her own stint at the 2008 games; capturing a bronze in the women’s –70 Kilo category.
