Robbie Lawler Has No Hard Feelings Towards American Top Team

Ahead of UFC Newark’s main event between Robbie Lawler and Colby Covington, the build-up has been focused on teammates-turned-rivals. “Ruthless” used to train at American Top Team but left for Hard Knocks 365.

Yet, since then, “Chaos” has made it a big deal that he left the team. But, Lawler doesn’t care and just went to a gym that best fits his style. He says he enjoys training there and is glad he made the move.

“I’m cool with the road I’ve taken and I have no animosity to anybody at that gym,” Lawler said at a media scrum. “I’m just moving forward, growing and getting better.

“It is what it is. I’m not at that gym anymore. I’m at Hard Knocks doing my thing and worried about myself.”

Although ATT is considered one of the best gyms in the world, it was not the right fit for Lawler. Instead, he wanted a change and gave a very good reason on why he left.

“Because I felt like going, like a grownup,” he said.

In the end, this fight has been all about Lawler and Covington and ATT. “Chaos” said “Ruthless” left because of a picture, and he plans on winning this for Dan Lambert (ATT Owner) and for everyone at the gym. But, it seems like that isn’t giving Lawler any motivation heading into this scrap.
