Reinier de Ridder blitzes through Kevin Holland with dominant rear naked choke win – UFC 311 Highlights
In his sophomore Octagon outing, Dutch grappling star, Reinier de Ridder can count it two wins in two — making extremely light work of perennial contender, Kevin Holland in their main card opener at UFC 311 in Inglewood.
de Ridder, a former two-weight ONE Championship gold holder, made his long-anticipated UFC bow back in November, submitting fellow Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Gerald Meerschaert with an eventual third round arm-triangle choke submission.
And racking up submission stoppage number thirteen tonight, Tilburg native, de Ridder managed to take Holland down early during the opening exchanges, before slicing up the Riverside striker with a sharp and well-placed elbow.
Jumping to the back of Holland before the three-minute mark, de Ridder would eventually land a body-triangle on the former, before patiently working for a rear-naked choke, forcing a tap from Holland to score his second Octagon submission victory.
Off the back of his win, de Ridder staked his claim for a shot at middleweight fighters currently in the promotion’s top-five rankings.
