Rashad Evans Off UFC 205 Due To Medical Issue
If you thought weekend’s (Sat., November 12, 2016) jam-packed UFC 205 from Madison Square Garden in New York City was too good to be true, well, you were right.
The New York City-based supercard suffered its first – and hopefully only – casualty today, as ESPN’s Brett Okamoto just tweeted that he was with UFC President Dana White, who informed him the preliminary bout between Rashad Evans and Tim Kennedy had been scrapped due to an issue with Evans’ medicals:
With Dana White right now, tells me Evans/Kennedy is off due to an issue with Evans's medicals. More info to come.

The bout was to be Evan’s middleweight debut in the UFC after the former 205-pound champ lost back-to-back bouts to Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader. Kennedy, meanwhile, has been out of action since a disappointing and controversial loss to Yoel Romero at 2014’s UFC 178, so it’s obviously a disheartening blow to find out his return fight has been called off.
No official details regarding the nature of Evan’s withdrawal have been made official as of yet, so stay tuned for further updates on the situation.
