Rashad Evans (19-3-1 MMA, 14-3-1 UFC) is set to fight Ryan Bader (19-4 MMA, 12-4 UFC) at UFC 192.

Evans (34-3-1) is ranked fourth in the light heavyweight division. He is 3-2 in his last five fights and is currently on a two-fight winning streak. His last octagon appearance came back at UFC 167 in 2013.

With such a long layoff, Evans is ready to get back in the cage. However, Evans did admit that he doubted if he would ever comeback to a  sport that he loves.

“When you’re dealt a situation like I was dealt,” Evans said on a media teleconference. “I’d be lying to you if I didn’t say that, there was a time when I ws doubting if I could come back.”

Evans had one big goal coming into this fight, and that was just to simply make it to the fight. For someone who has been injured frequently in the past, Evans explained that he wanted to make it through camp without an injury and just compete.

“I just wanted to make it to the fight,” Evans said. “I got through my training camp without any injuries, and I’m just excited to go out there and compete. Being out of the sport a whole two years was the hardest thing. It added a lot of perspectives, and gratefulness that I’m able to go out there and compete and enjoy myself doing what I love to do.”

UFC 192 takes place this Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at Houston’s Toyota Center.

There will be four UFC Fight Pass prelims, starting at 6 PM ET, then there will be four prelim fights on FOX Sports 1 starting at 8 PM ET, and then the main card will be broadcasted live on PPV at 10 PM ET.
