‘Rampage’ Jackson: I Don’t Care What Daniel Cormier Says
On the whole, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson doesn’t seem to upset about what Daniel Cormier has said about him on his Instagram account. But, the former UFC light-heavyweight champion revealed he would have to smack the undefeated Olympian if he doesn’t watch what he says.
The 35-year old is referring to a post by Cormier where he praised Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, who faces Jackson this weekend in Bellator‘s season 10 light-heavyweight tournament final, before finishing by saying Lawal will end “Rampage’s” career.
Well Jackson responded to the comments last night following a workout in his home city of Memphis. At first, the UFC veteran said he wasn’t concerned with Cormier’s comments as he is only trying to support his friend and former Strikeforce colleague:
“Why do I care about Daniel Cormier?” Jackson asked via MMAjunkie. “Is he in my league? He’s just talking’cause that’s his boy. That’s what people do. I don’t think about stuff like that. That don’t bother me. I don’t care about what other people say. I know what I’m going to do to ‘Mo.’ I don’t care what Daniel says. Daniel can’t get in the cage and fight for ‘Mo,’ can he? OK.”
However, “Rampage” let his true feelings be known towards the end of his meeting with members of the media, saying Cormier needs to watch what he says before he gets “smacked”.
“Daniel needs to watch what he says before I smack the taste out of his mouth,” said Jackson.
So “Rampage” doesn’t care about what D.C has to say but he is going to smack him if it carries on… Makes sense. Right?
Cormier was of course only trying to give support to his friend who he wrestled with at Oklahoma State University. He has a huge fight coming up himself next weekend, at UFC 173, as he is set to meet Dan Henderson in what may be a title eliminator on the nights co-main event.
Jackson and Lawal will meet in the main event of Bellator 120 this Saturday which takes place inside the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi. The main card is the promotions first to air on pay-per-view following it’s prelims on Spike.com.
Will “Rampage” be able to stay unbeaten inside the Bellatoe cage?
