Rafael dos Anjos Welcomes Jason High To Lightweight At UFC Fight Night 42
Top 10 UFC lightweight Rafael dos Anjos fell rather short in his attempt against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC on Fox 11, losing a lopsided decision and putting a temporary hold on the chance of a title shot this year. After going on a five fight spree including wins over Donald Cerrone and Evan Dunham, RDA finds himself at a crossroads in his career.
Finding himself rather dominated by the sambo of ‘The Eagle’, and losing in such a way after all the trash talk, it looks like dos Anjos wants to prove himself against another high-level wrestler. It was announced that RDA would welcome college wrestling beast Jason High to 155 pounds, as he drops down one division from welterweight.
High put together a two-fight win streak after re-debuting unsuccessfully against Erick Silva; bouncing back from the first round submission loss with wins over James Head and Anthony Lapsley in quick succession. Having only competed on April 19, the bout is a very quick turnaround for RDA. However, fighting a guy that is unranked at welterweight, let alone lightweight, is very risky for the current #8 Rafael dos Anjos.
