Last night the UFC announced they would be heading back to Orlando, Florida, on December 19 for UFC on FOX 17, and today they confirmed the card’s headliner.

Lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will headline the event against streaking fan favorite Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in the titleholder’s first defense after winning the belt with a dominant unanimous decision win over Anthony Pettis in the main event of March 14’s UFC 185.

The fight will be a rematch of their first meeting at August 2013’s UFC Fight Night 27, which dos Anjos won after rocking ‘Cowboy’ with a huge first round shot. Dos Anjos has won four straight bouts in one-sided fashion since losing a dominant decision to injured Khabib Nurmagomedov at April 2014’s UFC on FOX 11, which ironically took place in Orlando as well.

It’s clear that the champ has improved greatly and is fighting at the peak of his skills right now, but the same is without a doubt true about Cerrone as well. ‘Cowboy’ has won an unprecedented eight straight fights since losing to dos Anjos, taking out a growing list of elite 155-pound talent to become the only logical shot at the belt with Nurmagomedov and Pettis currently on the sidelines with injuries.

It should be quite the explosive affair when dos Anjos and Cerrone lock horns again in Orlando. Who is your pick to come out on top with the title?
