It looks like CM Punk may be getting the best preparation possible…..

The world of WWE is truly starting to merge with MMA. The recent acquisition of CM Punk by the UFC, the rumours of Brock Lesnar’s return and talk of Alberto Del Rio going to Bellator all signify big changes in the entertainment side of the sport. Whether it’s for the better is yet to be seen, and there are a fair share of nay sayers.

Regardless, this thing is happening and there aren’t many that won’t watch keenly as this situation plays out. One such keen viewer is UFC president Dana White, as he tells FOX that Punk will be training with Rufousport:

“He’s now picked a training camp,” White said Tuesday night on FOX Sports Live. I’m pretty sure he’s going to be training with Anthony Pettis, the 155-pound champion and his team. We’re just going to see how he progresses in training and then we’ll go from there.”

Props to MMAFighting for the quotes. So CM Punk training at Roufusport could be very interesting. Although not a fighter, Punk is an athlete. Could the world renowned camp and the UFC lightweight champion “Showtime” turn Phillip Brooks (real name) in to a force in the world’s deepest promotion?

Of course there are also the reports surrounding Duke Roufus, the owner of CM Punk’s training facility. Will there be more ‘horror stories’ emerging now that they have acquired the UFC’s highest profile signing of 2014? No news yet as to which division Punk is aiming for, or who he will fight upon his debut…
