UFC 189 goes down on July 11th, with the heated rivalry between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor at the forefront of the PPV (pay-per-view) event. ‘Scarface’ will put his 145-pound title on the line in the main event at UFC 189, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout between ‘The Notorious’ and ‘Junior’ has been two years in the making, with the Irish sensation talking mad trash about the Brazilian boss.

The champion’s recent stunt with the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) has only added fuel to the fire, and has brought Aldo’s action in to question.  For now though, the bout is still official, as we edge closer to the blockbuster card and ask the question, who you got? A host of MMA (mixed martial arts) stars told MMAInterviews who they thought will take home the strap at UFC 189, and it was nearly a clean sweep.

As seen above, Luke Rockhold, Max Holloway, Frank Mir, Felice Herrig, Carla Esparza, Daniel Cormier, Lorenz Larkin, Urijah Faber, James Moontasri and Christos Giagos make their picks for UFC 189’s main event. The results are below:

Daniel Cormier: Jose Aldo
Frank Mir: Jose Aldo
Max Holloway: Jose Aldo
Felice Herrig: Jose Aldo
Carla Esparza: Conor McGregor
Lorenz Larkin: On the fence
Urijah Faber: Jose Aldo
Luke Rockhold: Jose Aldo
TJ Dillashaw: Jose Aldo
James Moontasri: Jose Aldo
Christos Giagos: Conor McGregor

So 8-2 in favor of the Brazilian boss to remain at the top of the division, with Lorenz Larkin unable to make a pick. Do you think the former WEC champion and long-time UFC featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo will defeat Conor McGregor?

It pays to remember that Aldo’s calibre of opponent has been consistently higher than Conor McGregor’s, especially when you consider ‘The Notorious’ defeated Dennis Siver for the title shot. That being said, the Irish striker has the height advantage over Aldo, and recent events reaffirm the fact that anything can happen in this sport.
