With the flyweight title fight at UFC 178 tonight (Sat. Sept 27th, 2014) somewhat flying under the radar, the preceeding two fights on the card have garnered the lion’s share of media attention this week. It’s hard to argue against how exciting the co-main event for the evening is, as ex-Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez looks to debut in style, as he is scheduled to face Donald Cerrone in Las Vegas.
“””Cowboy” will be looking to rain on Alvarez’s parade big time, as will Dustin Poirier against Conor McGregor. In what has turned out to be a heated feud, the two tough featherweights will battle for a spot on killers row at 145 pounds. Just these matches alone make it well worth watching, or at least following tonight’s UFC 178 main card.
