Poll: Will Jose Aldo Make It To UFC 194?

The UFC is about to ramp up their jam-packed late fall/winter schedule with a full slate of potentially great events in the coming two months, but none of them even comes close to quite capturing the luster and allure of December 12’s UFC 194 pay-per-view (PPV) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

There, longtime featherweight champion Jose Aldo will finally (hopefully) take on interim titleholder Conor McGregor in the main event, while middleweight champion Chris Weidman will face what many feel will be his toughest test in surging contender Luke Rockhold.

Obviously the focus is on Aldo vs. McGregor, which may end up the most promoted fight in UFC history after a 10-city media tour to promote its first booking at UFC 189. But when Aldo was forced to pull out with an extremely unfortunate rib injury suffered in training, the bout was put on hold for the time being, and while the anticipation is building palpably as the bout draws near, you can tell there’s more of a sense of cautious optimism this time around.

Fans can hardly be blamed for feeling that way; Aldo has pulled out of five UFC title fights in total since coming over as the first-ever UFC featherweight champ in early 2011. He’s also got back into action to defend his belt on a much more regular schedule than many recent champs if you look at it by the numbers.

In any case, there’s no doubt that MMA fans everywhere are holding their breath for this dream match-up to actually happen. Do you believe Aldo will show up to fight his Irish rival this December?
