Poll: Who Will Be The Next UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion?

ufc

Late last night the MMA world was rocked by the news that UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones had been stripped of his title. The promotion had seen enough after the troubled “Bones” got caught up in a messy hit-and-run felony case.

The murky details of the allegedly drug-fuelled crime have come thick and fast, costing JJ his belt and an indefinite suspension from his employers. He was originally scheduled to face Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 this coming May 23rd, but now AJ will instead face Daniel Cormier.

DC already challenged for the title once, losing a feud-ending decision against Jones at UFC 182. Now the AKA (American Kickboxing Academy) captain will get another crack at the whip, only against a surging powerhouse in the form of “Rumble””.

Unbeaten since a UFC 142 loss to Vitor Belfort, Johnson has looked terrifying in his recent outings. Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira both got smashed by “Rumble”, and he’ll now be looking to do the same against Cormier for the belt.

So who has the edge? Johnson can bang, hard, and he’ll be looking to use that early in the fight. DC can go for hours,  and is durable. The AKA prduct also has the arguable advantage in the wrestling department. So what do you say, who will be the next UFC light-heavyweight champion?
