Poll: Should Jon Jones Go To Jail?

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has suffered a 2015 full of failed drug tests and legal woes, and this is just the beginning. After years in charge of the division, “Bones” systematically dismantled himself in dominant fashion.

In a way that no-one else could, Jon Jones dethroned Jon Jones; his alleged part in the New Mexico hit-and-run was the finishing blow to a career that had seen him beat Lyoto Machida, Quinton Jackson, Vitor Belfort, Glover Teixeira, Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier to name a few.

What sets Jones apart from your average criminal is that he has a tonne of talent, talent that will go to waste if he is found guilty and imprisoned. There is a certain element of sadness involved in this situation, but there is relief all around that no one was killed during the early morning accident.

Jones would certainly be facing a serious stint had anyone lost their life, but there is a chance that he gets away without doing time as it stands. Money being the key, and JJ has a lot of that. The world of MMA (mixed martial arts) has lost one of its greatest assets, but should it be for years instead of months?

If indeed found guilty, do you think the former 205-pound boss should do time, or not? Given what he has to offer the world of combat sports, maybe you think he should get another chance, or perhaps you’d throw the book at him?
