Pic: Valerie Letourneau Shows Off Her Shiner After UFC 174

There wasn’t a whole lot to write home about at last Saturday’s (June 14, 2014) UFC 174 from the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada. Most of the noteworthy action took place on the preliminary section of the card, and a lot of it was due to the rousing women’s bantamweight bout between Valerie Letourneau and Elizabeth Phillips.

The debuting Letourneau won the fight after having her eye badly swollen shut early on in the war, instantly earning a ton of fans and a solid start in the UFC for her efforts. The American Top Team product was apparently asked by her burgeoning fanbase to offer some photos of her healing eye, so she took to her official Instagram account to oblige with the following message:

“I don’t like to post these kinda photos… But a lot are asking for them! So here is my pretty shiner, and just to reassure everybody, its not broken! Thank God! I can’t wait to get back to training.. Still so much to work on and i am more motivated then ever!! I have all the tools i need at American Top Team to progress, and believe me, I’m not done improving! Thanks for all of your messages! I read them all, and I am very touched by what people say.”
