Patrick Cote vs. Josh Burkman Video Highlights
Welterweights Patrick Cote and Josh Burkman put on a “Fight of the Night”-winning show for Canadian fans on the main card of tonight’s (Sun., August 23, 2015) UFC Fight Night 74 from the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Quebec native Cote was fully backed by the roars of his Canadian faithful, and it motivated him to keep up a high volume of accurate strikes and pressure on a more stationary Burkman. But the veteran was still able to blast Cote some huge counter punches as he seemingly waited on a knockout blow.
That never came, as Cote finally floored him and ended the fight by raining down a nonstop downpour of ground shots to earn the emphatic win for his hometown fans. It was the first time that the iron-chinned “People’s Warrior” had been finished by strikes, signaling that Cote has found a home at 170 pounds.
