Paige VanZant Confirms Ronda Rousey Blew Up On Her

It looks like the story about Ronda Rousey blowing up at Paige VanZant at a Reebok event are true.

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate was a guest on Joe Rogan‘s podcast today (May 5, 2016), and she revealed a few details from an encounter between Rousey and women’s strawweight contender VanZant that occurred at a Reebok promotional event held by the UFC last week on April 27, 2016.

Following Tate’s outing of the scuffle, VanZant subsequently confirmed the news to TMZ, deeming the outburst, “shocking and totally unnecessary” in a statement:

“It appears that I offended Ronda by congratulating Holly after her victory. The incident was very shocking and totally unnecessary.”

VanZant supposedly incurred the full wrath of Rousey for congratulation former champion Holm for her game-changing knockout win over Rousey at last year’s UFC 193, after which ‘Rowdy’ has largely stayed out of the public eye while Holm went on to lose the belt to Tate (who revealed this whole mess to begin with) in the co-main event of March’s UFC 196.

If Rousey can’t handle the absence of all the love and adoration that was thrust upon her while she was on top of the sport, it’s difficult to believe that she’ll be able to handle the long and bumpy road back to the top of the mountain where her lost reverence lives.

It looks like we’ll just have to wait and see, whenever that may be.
