Recently Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier has found himself in the news a lot due to his November 3rd fight rapidly approaching, with no opponent named. After Frank Mir endured a knee injury that forced him to withdraw, it was reported last weekend that Matt Mitrione as offered the bout with Cormier but turned down the UFC’s offer to go to Strikeforce. Evans was initially critical of Jon Jones for his decision to turn down a replacement fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 151, but today took to Twitter to explain his reasoning behind not fighting Texeira:

Following the controversial ending of Andrei Arlovski vs. Tim Sylvia this past Friday, ONE FC has implemented a rule change. The bout ended in a “No Contest” due to the promotion’s rules on the use of soccer kicks: ONE FC has decided to eliminate the rule all together.
ONE FC’s rule set combines the North American unified rules of MMA with the soccer kicks and stomps of Pride, however fighters must wait for a referee’s open attack signal before using the more violent maneuvers on a downed opponent.
It was recently announced that the man who wins most impressively amongst the two headlining Light Heavyweight bouts at UFC on Fox 4 will find himself in line for the next title shot versus the winner of Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson. While this may have come as a bit of a surprise to many, it may also make the most sense for the UFC in terms of drawing power and excitement, something the promotion has been lacking recently. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is set to face Brandon Vera in the main event this

During 2011 Jon Jones had one of the best years in MMA history, putting together a record of 4-0 and defeating some of the top names in the UFC’s Light Heavyweight division.
