It appears the long awaited Season Five Heavyweight Tournament final bout between Eric Prindle and Thiago Santos will not take place. After their first encounter at Bellator 59 was declared a no-contest due to an “accidental kick to the groin,” the two were set to meet again at last week’s Bellator 61. Today brought some bad news for MMA fans that were hoping for a Carlos Condit versus Jake Ellenberger rematch as the UFC announced that Ellenberger would be facing Martin Kampmann in the main event of “The Ultimate Fighter” 15 finale. Oddly, it was Kampmann who handed Condit his last defeat, beating the current interim Welterweight champion via split decision on April 1, 2009. Condit followed that loss by defeating Ellenberger via split decision in September of the same year.
