TUF 13 Diary: Episode 8 Recap and Analysis

Sometimes I feel like a broken record when watching TUF. To be honest and I think I could speak for a big chunk of you Lowkickers out there, but the 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter reality TV show hasn’t wowed me. The only guy that really stood out for me was Team dos Santos member Ryan McGillivray. Assemblyman Bob Reilly: Insurance isn’t going to do anything for the brain damage fighters suffer

ZUFFA’s recent announcement of the company’s customized accident insurance coverage, which covers all Strikeforce and UFC fighters inside and outside of the cage, appeared to be both welcomed and applauded by all. That is, with the exception of MMA’s most infamous detractor, New York Assemblyman Bob Reilly, who has openly likened the sport to a form of “human cockfighting.”

TUF 13 Diary: Episode 7 Recap and Analysis

Last week’s episode of The Ultimate Fighter 13 was a doubleheader of action-packed fights that saw both Team Lesnar and Team dos Santos earning wins. The wildcard fight between Team JDS’ Javier Torres vs. Team Lesnar’s Chuck O’Neil was announced and Junior dos Santos said goodbye to assistant coach Lew Polley. In three weeks time two of the finalists from TUF 13 will square off for a UFC contract at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, headlined by a bout between Clay Guida and Anthony Pettis.

Official: Edgar vs. Maynard III fight cancelled (Updated)

According to a report from MMAFighting.com and officially announced on UFC.com the trilogy between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard will have to wait. Both fighters suffered injuries during their respective training camps. To replace Edgar and Maynard for the main event at UFC 130 will be Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Hamill and the co-main event of Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson. The welterweight bout between Thiago Alves and Rick Story will also be promoted to the main Pay-Per-View card as well. Below is the official
