In front of a group of reporters gathered at UFC headquarters in Las Vegas, UFC President Dana White unloaded on UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and his coach, Greg Jackson. Dan Henderson was forced to pull out of UFC 151 because of a knee injury and Jones refused a bout against substitute opponent Chael Sonnen.White had no kind words for Jones: “The Jon Jones piece of meat f&#*ing thing. Just as the announcement came that Chris Leben will make his awaited return at UFC 155 this December, it has been announced that two Middleweight contenders who have met before will face off at the year-end card. Alan Belcher, whose plans to fight Vitor Belfort at UFC 153 fell apart when he found out he had a spinal fracture and Belfort stepped in to fight Jon Jones at UFC 152, will face Yushin Okami in a rematch.
Interestingly enough, Belcher and Okami fought one another in their respective UFC
Bellator Heavyweight champion Cole Konrad (9-0 MMA, 7-0 BFC) has retired, the promotion announced today. Konrad walks away from MMA with an unblemished record and is set to become an agriculture commodities trader specializing in dairy products.
The Wisconsin-native stated: “This decision has been on my mind for a while, and the time was finally right to make the move.”
Konrad wrestled for the University of Minnesota, where he was a Division I national champ in 2006 and 2007, a four-time All-America
Suspended since last November, UFC veteran and fan-favorite Chris “The Crippler” Leben’s timetable for a return to the Octagon has been unknown until now. Leben has apparently finished the rehab program furnished for him by the UFC after failing a drug test for painkillers, and will make his return at UFC 155 to face Czech fighter Karlos Vemola. The fight will round out the six-bout main card, which will take place December 29th from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Breaking news comes tonight as UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva is willing to step up and save an event for his company by facing Stephan Bonnar in the main event at UFC 153. The exact specifications of Jackson’s injury remain a mystery but he will be unable to face Glover Texeira nonetheless. White took to Twitter to announce the bad news:
