Of those suspended Brock Lesnar, Nate Diaz, Vladimir Matyushenko and Manny Gamburyan could face the longest time away from the Octagon.
Brock Lesnar has been suspended until June 28 due to an abdominal injury can be cleared early by a doctor.
Alistair Overeem has been suspended until February 14, with no contact

Brock Lesnar: I don’t think there’s a Heavyweight that has done what I’ve done in the UFC

Brock Lesnar is set to return to the Octagon on Friday when he welcomes Alistair Overeem to the UFC in the main event at UFC 141.  The fight will be Lesnar’s first since losing the UFC Heavyweight crown to Cain Velasquez back in October 2010.
Since losing the title, Lesnar underwent a tough stretch; being forced to withdraw from a scheduled fight against Junior dos Santos after suffering a second bout of diverticulitis. Now fully recovered from the surgery that removed a section of his

Frank Mir: The sky’s the limit for a healthy Brock Lesnar

Frank Mir knows a little bit about Brock Lesnar, having faced him twice since Lesnar joined the UFC in 2008. In their first meeting, a very green Lesnar was caught in a Mir kneebar and forced to submit.  In the rematch, Lesnar got the best of Mir, earning a second round TKO.
Mir, coming off an impressive submission win over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, offered his take on the upcoming bout between Lesnar and Alistair Overeem. The heavyweight scrap between Lesnar and Overeem will be the main event

Compustrike Strikeforce Dallas Preview: Werdum’s advantage

According to Compustrike, the fight between Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum could be a very close affair. Compustrike averages show that both men show that both men throw similiar amounts of strikes, with Overeem having a slight advantage. Reem has a higher accurancy and power percentage and even on the ground Alistair is the more agressive fighter. How will this all pan out tomorrow with the 2nd half of the Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix just around the corner?
We’ll find out very soon, but

Fight Night 24: Has Little Nog been highly underrated ahead of this weekend’s clash against Phil Davis?

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is a true veteran in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and one of the few guys in that has come from the “old school” still competing at the highest level. Many of us are already familiar with his famous twin brother “Big Nog” Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, but there are many casual fans out there that are not familiar with “Lil Nog”.
In a career that spans 10+ years he has beaten the likes of Guy Mezger, Kazushi Sakuraba, and Alistair Overeem (twice).

Quick Quote: Bigfoot Silva wants the “arrogant” Josh Barnett in the Final

Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva successfully advanced to the semi-final round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix last Saturday, when he defeated Tournament favorite Fedor Emelianenko via TKO (due to doctor stoppage) between the second and third rounds. And though he hasn’t reached the final just yet, it appears the Brazilian already has an opponent in mind for when the time comes. In order for the bout to materialize though, Silva must first face the winner of the Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum match.

No Stranger to Danger

Fedor Emelianenko will make his long-anticipated return to Mixed Martial Arts this weekend, facing no other than the Brazilian heavy-hitter Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva. The fight will open the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, as the winner is expected to advance into the semi-finals against either Alistair Overeem or Fabricio Werdum. The fight between Emelianenko and Antonio Silva is another classic “Fedor Fight”. Once again, “The Last Emperor” is facing a significantly larger opponent, who’s all overall

Logic behind Mixed Martial Arts rankings

Rankings. They’re addictive and endlessly debatable, or are they? One of the great features of Low Kick is the option to submit your rankings for the respective weight classes and of course, the revered and glorified “pound for pound” list.
The question I have been asking myself for weeks now is what gives a fighter the right to be in the top 10? Should it be based on skill alone, the physical abilities that fighter appears to exhibit against his opponents? if so then the likes of Alistair Overeem,

Report: Fedor Emelianenko and Fabricio Werdum likely to meet in mid-2011?

Fabricio Werdum recently stated that he’ll be looking for a “tune-up fight” before returning to the Strikeforce cage, against either Fedor Emelianenko or Alistair Overeem. And in light of Vadim Finkelstein’s constant statements about having a rematch against Fabricio Werdum as main priority for Fedor Emelianenko’s management, I decided to ask M-1 Global for a comment. According to Finkelstein’s response the situation did not change; however, Fedor might participate in a “tune-up fight” of his own. Here’s

Rumor: Fedor Emelianenko could be on his way to the UFC?
