Shane Carwin out of TUF 16 Finale fight with Roy Nelson

The injury curse in the UFC continues, as Shane Carwin is forced to withdraw from his fight with Roy Nelson due to a knee injury. UFC President Dana White tweeted a news, also adding that the Ultimate Fighting Championship are now looking for a replacement.
Interestingly enough, MMAWeekly.com reported back in September that Carwin has injured his knee, but will still compete against Roy Nelson. “The Engineer” then appeared on Inside MMA, threating Roy Nelson with a knockout

Ronda Rousey becomes first woman to join the UFC, Tate to follow

Although UFC President Dana White has gone on record to say that women would never fight in the UFC, it appears that anything can change in MMA. According to TMZ, Rousey has today become the first ever woman to fight in the UFC, moving from Strikeforce and bringing her Women’s Bantamweight championship with her:

Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen will coach TUF; Title fight set for April of next year

Apparently, even if Dana White could have gotten Anderson Silva to say ‘yes’ to a superfight with Jon Jones, that fight would have had to wait for quite some time anyhow. Breaking news comes that Jones will act as coach on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, and will be pitted against former Middleweight title challenger and trash-talk specialist Chael Sonnen. The two were almost on their way to a UFC 151-saving bout on September 1st before the now-infamous incident of Jones turning down the fight.

Newly motivated, Rampage wants Glover Teixeira fight next

After being forced to withdraw from his scheduled UFC 153 bout with surging prospect Glover Teixeira, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has taken to Twitter to reiterate his desire to face Teixeira. Rampage was replaced by Fabio Maldonado on the epic card, who showed great heart but was ultimately destroyed by the skills of Texeira. Anthony Johnson signs multi-fight deal with World Series of Fighting; Will face D.J. Linderman on Nov. 3

Dana White recently left the door open for former welterweight Anthony “Rumble” Johnson to return to the promotion in the future. However, that won’t be anytime soon because Johnson has opted to ink an exclusive, multi-fight agreement with World Series of Fighting and will make his debut at the promotion’s inaugural event on November 3 in Las Vegas against D.J. Linderman.
