Jonathan Chaimberg: Florian may be dropping weight classes but he’s actually getting stronger

Jonathan Chaimberg is considered one of the most respected strength and conditioning coaches in North America. He maybe young at the age of 32, but he has been training elite athletes and regular people for over ten years. The former Canadian national wrestler works very closely with Greg Jackson’s elite fighters, but most recently has been working very diligently with Kenny Florian making his Featherweight debut at UFC 131 in my hometown of Vancouver this Saturday.
With 131 just around the corner, Jon

Compustrike: UFC 130 by the numbers

UFC 130 may have had main event booking problems, but it didn’t stop the card from having non-stop action from bottom to top. Many fans were expecting to see Frankie Edgar defend his Lightweight strap against Gray Maynard, but instead we were treated to a headlining bout between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt “The Hammer” Hamill. Rampage looking to get back to the Light-Heavyweight title picture and Matt Hamill trying to boost in stock in a very stacked division. Our good friends at Compustrike kept

UFC 130 Recap: Rampage, Hamill and Roy Nelson’s Belly

A packed MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada witnessed an action packed card featuring the UFC’s elite Light-Heavyweights. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson wanted to show the world that he is still one of the most devastating power punchers in the game. LowKick.com UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill Staff Predictions

Rampage Jackson vs. Matt HamillAnton Gurevich: It’s hard to pick against Rampage Jackson in this one. He’s simply too powerful for Matt Hamill. Yes, Hamill is a great Wrestler, but Rampage is a decent wrestler himself, and will surely not allow “The Hammer” to take him down at will. My pick is Rampage Jackson via TKO in Round 2.Joey Santosus: Rampage is capable of ending any fight with a single punch… Duly noted.  However, short of that puncher’s chance, I’m taking the underdog in this one.  I

Will Michael Bisping Chael Sonnen his way to a shot at the title?

Before the fight against Nate Marquardt at UFC 109, Chael Sonnen was just another UFC Middleweight far, far away from challenging Anderson Silva for his belt. But the charismatic Oregonian had plans of his own; Sonnen used his second-to-none trash talking skills and the interest in Nate Marquardt’s campaign for a rematch against Anderson Silva to call out the Champ, eventually forcing himself into the mix for a shot at the title. Of course, Chael Sonnen backed up his talk by bulldozing Marquardt

TUF 13 Diary: Episode 8 Recap and Analysis

Sometimes I feel like a broken record when watching TUF. To be honest and I think I could speak for a big chunk of you Lowkickers out there, but the 13th season of The Ultimate Fighter reality TV show hasn’t wowed me. But other than him there hasn’t been a moment of brilliance on the show yet that has led me to believe that we have a bona fide Mixed Martial Arts superstar coming out of this show. TUF in the past
