Shane Carwin out of TUF 16 Finale fight with Roy Nelson

You read it right, LowKick’ers.
The injury curse in the UFC continues, as Shane Carwin is forced to withdraw from his fight with Roy Nelson due to a knee injury. UFC President Dana White tweeted a news, also adding that the Ultimate Fighting Championship are now looking for a replacement.
Interestingly enough, MMAWeekly.com reported back in September that Carwin has injured his knee, but will still compete against Roy Nelson. “The Engineer” then appeared on Inside MMA, threating Roy Nelson with a knockout

Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen will coach TUF; Title fight set for April of next year

Apparently, even if Dana White could have gotten Anderson Silva to say ‘yes’ to a superfight with Jon Jones, that fight would have had to wait for quite some time anyhow. Breaking news comes that Jones will act as coach on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter, and will be pitted against former Middleweight title challenger and trash-talk specialist Chael Sonnen. The two were almost on their way to a UFC 151-saving bout on September 1st before the now-infamous incident of Jones turning down the fight.

Tito Ortiz: Forrest Griffin fought pitter patter, I was trying to kill him

Tito Ortiz voiced his opinions post-fight at UFC 148 in what would be his final fight pres conference. He had several good quotes concerning his career ending bout with Forrest Griffin, a fight that he lost by unanimous decision. Ortiz was not surprisingly upset with the outcome, thinking that he did more damage and was looking to finish the fight, but still gave respect to Griffin. Ortiz has always been an outspoken member of the MMA community, and went out fighting hard with his head held high. About his

Shane del Rosario chronicles return from serious car accident

Undefeated Heavyweight prospect Shane del Rosario sits at 11-0 with a ton of potential. However, Sonnen did not win the contest by utilizing his go-to targets of Anderson Silva and Brazil, in fact he did not mention them at all. Instead he went to the well and created a new rant, touching on many subjects in the sports world.

Anderson Silva believes he owed it to his people to defeat Chael Sonnen in Brazil

The frenzied discussion of the title fight originally set for UFC 147 continued yesterday as Dana White revealed that he had to spend 75 minutes persuading his champion Anderson Silva to defend the belt outside of Brazil. The fight has now been rescheduled to take place in Las Vegas as the headlining bout at the ultra-stacked UFC 148 card July 7. The longtime champ Silva, however, wanted the chance to have revenge on Chael Sonnen in his home country, whose people feel so disrespected and insulted by

Jake Ellenberger vs. Martin Kampmann to headline TUF 15 finale

Today brought some bad news for MMA fans that were hoping for a Carlos Condit versus Jake Ellenberger rematch as the UFC announced that Ellenberger would be facing Martin Kampmann in the main event of “The Ultimate Fighter” 15 finale. Oddly, it was Kampmann who handed Condit his last defeat, beating the current interim Welterweight champion via split decision on April 1, 2009. Condit followed that loss by defeating Ellenberger via split decision in September of the same year.
Since that loss to

Georges St. Pierre remains open to fighting Nick Diaz

The one thing that UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre seemed to want more than anything else on Saturday night was to see Nick Diaz stand in the center of the Octagon with his hand raised in victory. In the days leading up to the event, St. Pierre made it clear that he wanted to face Diaz in his next bout, however that opportunity was denied him by a Carlos Condit victory.
There were many fans that also wanted to see St. Pierre meet Diaz and while that fight may not happen as soon as St. Pierre
