Mike Perry Has Successful Surgery On Broken Nose Following UFC Uruguay
Mike Perry underwent successful surgery on his nose following his UFC Uruguay war with Vicente Luque last night.
Perry and Luque fought in a back-and-forth encounter that ultimately went the distance, resulting in the latter winning a split decision. However, “Platinum” suffered a broken nose in the third round after a knee from Luque connected flush.
Perry was leaking blood before cameras finally got a gruesome look at his nose:
Perry was later admitted to a hospital in Montevideo, and according to his manager Abraham Kawa, the surgery – which only took an hour — was a success.
The plan now is for him to get discharged and fly home. Perry is not to have any contact on the nose for at least six months either.
For his efforts, Perry received $50,000 along with Luque after they both banked Fight of the Night honors. However, he is back on the loss column and has now gone 3-3 in his last six fights.
Given his style and him being a fan favorite, that shouldn’t affect his UFC future by any means though, especially with some making a case for him winning against Luque.
