Current UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has been doing a lot of media recently to hype his main event title bout with MMA legend Dan Henderson at UFC 204 next month. During an interview with James Dielhenn of Sky Sports, Bisping took a shot at Henderson for not being able to beat Anderson Silva.

Henderson, who is a multiple-promotion world champion and has been competing in MMA (mixed martial arts) for 19-years, couldn’t beat Silva when they fought at UFC 82. The fight took place eight years ago for the middleweight title, which Silva held at the time. Silva was considered the greatest fighter on the planet and submitted Henderson in the second round of their fight.

Bisping has fought Silva as well and has beaten the MMA legend. Bisping defeated Silva at UFC Fight Night 84 earlier this year in a back and forth slugfest. Bisping ended up picking up the unanimous decision victory and went on to capture the middleweight title in his next bout against Luke Rockhold at UFC 199.

“Listen, I have achieved two things that he could never achieve,” Bisping said. “”He could not beat Anderson Silva, and I did that. He could not win a UFC belt, I have done that. He wasn’t good enough on the night, whereas I was. Henderson is famous for one thing only – knocking me out at UFC 100. That is the highlight of his career, and it will be eradicated when I destroy him at UFC 204.”

UFC 204 takes place October 8 in Manchester, England. The main card will air on PPV while the prelims will air on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
