Max Holloway Explains Why He Thinks Ilia Topuria Is An ‘Odd Dude’

Max Holloway, Ilia Topuria

UFC star Max Holloway has explained why he thinks Ilia Topuria is a bit of an odd guy after the latter posed with a BMF title belt recently.

Next month, Max Holloway will challenge Ilia Topuria for the UFC featherweight championship. In more ways than one, it’s the kind of fight that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. These two men are absolute warriors, and when they get into the cage together, we’re expecting to see an absolute war.

For Holloway, it’ll be interesting to see how he approaches this contest. He’s coming off the back of an absolutely wild knockout win over Justin Gaethje, and he’ll be hungry to prove he can inflict the same kind of damage on the current featherweight king.

That win gave ‘Blessed’ the BMF title, which appears to be a belt that Topuria wants to claim, if his training photo is to be believed.

In a recent interview, Max Holloway gave his thoughts on the whole situation.

Max Holloway questions Ilia Topuria

“That was weird, bro. This guy actually bought one,” Holloway told The Mac Life. “That’s next level, bro. I’m like, how did he get it? He had to have bought it because there’s only a couple originals and the guys who won it have the originals so he had to have bought one.

“At the end of the day, he’s an odd dude,” he continued. “He’s an odd fella. Hey, whatever gets him going. Whatever confidence he needs. I want the best Ilia. Go buy a couple more BMF belts. Go buy a couple more UFC belts. Whatever you want to do. Just keep that same energy when it comes Oct. 26.”
