UFC 190 is set to go down on August 1, 2015 from Brazil, with the UFC recently announcing an intense clash between dominant women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia as the headliner. Today (March 21, 2015), the company has confirmed another bout that will take place on the card.

MMAFighting has confirmed that legendary Brazilians Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will do battle in a rematch of their first bout which took place in PRIDE over a decade ago. Their first fight, a fight many consider to be one of the best the sport has ever seen, was taken by “Shogun” via unanimous decision.

Both fighters have hit some rough times as of late, but the history and star power the two men possess will likely intrigue many.

Nogueira was actually riding a two-fight win streak which included wins over former champs Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans until he met the surging Anthony “Rumble” Johnson at last summer’s UFC on FOX 12. Current title challenger Johnson brutally knocked Nogueira out in just 44-seconds. “Minotouro” will look to prove he still has something left in the tank at the HSBC Arena August 1.

“Shogun,” on the other hand, has won only three of his last eight bouts, recently suffering back-to-back stoppage losses to aging veteran Dan Henderson and rising contender Ovince St-Preux.
