Manager claims Alex Pereira WILL fight Magomed Ankalaev next: ‘That guy is such a killer’
Prominent manager, Ali Abdelaziz has claimed despite “politics”, light heavyweight best, Alex Pereira will most certainly share the Octagon with his client, Magomed Ankalaev in his next Octagon walk — describing the Brazilian as a “killer.
Pereira, a former undisputed middleweight champion and the current undisputed light heavyweight champion, has claimed in recent weeks that he will not be defending his championship against the surging number one ranked, Ankalaev next — urging the Russian to instead wait in line.
Sidelined since successfully defending his light heavyweight crown for the third time last year alone, Sao Paulo star, Pereira headlined UFC 307, eventually stopping streaking contender, Khalil Rountree with a bloody fourth round knockout at the fence.
And just weeks later, former vacant title chaser, Ankalaev retained his status as the number one ranked contender in the division, taking home a forgettable unanimous decision win over fellow contender, Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 308 in the Middle East.
However, before the turn of the annum, Brazilian star, Pereira was labelled a “chicken” by the above-noted, Ankalaev, after the incumbent claimed he would not be defending his 205lbs gold opposite him next.

And according to the above-mentioned Dominance MMA leader, Abdelaziz, fans hoping to see Pereira face off with Ankalaev next should be rest assured, claiming the two will most definitely fight next.
“Alex Pereira can say whatever he wants. That guy is such a killer,” Ali Abdelaziz said during an interview with MMA Junkie recently. “He fought three fights in 167 days. Who am I to say – he cannot say whatever he wants? He’s having fun. Ankalaev’s having fun with him. But the only thing that’s going to matter – him and Ankalaev are going to be locked in a cage.
“… Alex Pereira is fighting Magomed Ankalaev next,” Abdelaziz explained. “The UFC – everything can be manoeuvred, get delayed. In the UFC, the best fight with the best. It’s the only promotion in the world, I can tell you this – if you keep winning, you get to fight for a title. There’s not too much politics in the UFC.”
