Louis Smolka Upsets Dublin Crowd With Submission Win Over Paddy Holohan
Louis Smolka (10-1) and Paddy Holohan (12-2-1) went from co-main event to the main event of UFC Fight Night 76 in a short amount of time. Both men had a chance to extend their winning streak to three.
Unfortunately for “The Hooligan,” it was Smolka who reigned supreme.
Holohan stormed to the center of the Octagon right away. He took Smolka down, but he wound up in a d’arce choke position. Holohan escaped and had his own guillotine attempt. “”The Hooligan” stuck to his opponent and went for a heel hook. “”Da Last Samurai” went for an ankle lock, but Holohan got out of it. Smolka landed a head kick. The round ended with the two fighters trading punches and Smolka getting the better of it.
At the start of the second round, Holohan landed a couple of straight punches. “The Hooligan” grabbed hold of Smolka’s back and had a body triangle locked in. “Da Last Samurai” escaped and began raining down punches on Holohan. Smolka moved to mount and pummeled his opponent until he gave up his back. Smolka locked in a choke and the fight was over.
