Liz Carmouche vs. Raquel Pennington Off Of UFC 191

The UFC 191 pay-per-view card has taken its first hit as the scheduled women’s bantamweight bout between Liz Carmouche and Raquel Pennington at UFC 191 has been canceled.

MMA Junkie is reporting that an undisclosed injury has forced Liz Carmouche out of that bout.

In her last bout, Carmouche faced Lauren Murphy on April 4, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 63 and won the fight by unanimous decision in her last fight. She is 2-2 in her last four.

Pennington now awaits a new bantamweight opponent.

In her last fight, Pennington fought Holly Holm at UFC 184 on February 28th, 2015, but lost the fight via split decision. Pennington holds a 5-5 pro MMA record and is on a one fight losing streak.

UFC 191 will be held on September 5, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will air on pay-per-view, FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
