Lil Nog rumored to face Rampage Jackson at UFC 119
According to Nogueira’s boxing coach Luis Carlos Dórea, Lil Nog will look to make his return to the Octagon in September at UFC 119 and it is being rumored that his opponent will be Rampage Jackson.
“It’s set that he’ll be back in September, and rumors point that his opponent might be Quinton Jackson. It’d be a great fight for Rogério, he’s a former UFC champion and a victory over him will move us pretty close to the title. The UFC only has top athletes and Quinton Jackson is really dangerous. It’d be a great fight, but the UFC didn’t confirmed anything yet.” Dórea told Tatame.com in an exclusive interview.
Both men were last seen at UFC 114 where in some eyes both men lost. Lil Nog got a close and highly contreversial split decision over somewhat new Jason Brilz. The fight was very back and forth but I like many others thought Brilz had pulled off the upset ….the judges saw it differently as 2 of the 3 gave Nogueira the nod. Rampage Jackson on the other hand was not so lucky. He lost the decision to Rashad Evans after Evans controlled pretty much the whole fight with his wrestling. If this fight were to happen it would be a good one as both men like to stand and bang.
