Khamzat Chimaev Calls Out Brock Lesnar, GSP & Daniel Cormier

Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev has been on a social media rampage as of late in a bid to secure himself a fight before the end of the year.

Chimaev suffered badly with Covid-19 which ultimately caused him to be side-lined and not compete in the octagon for over a year. The hype was real awaiting his return and ‘Borz’ certainly delivered with his 1st round submission victory over Li Jingliang at UFC 267.

The Swedish fighter took to Twitter on Monday offering out the challenge to many of the former top names within the sport, including George St-Pierre, Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier. All three of the previously mentioned fighters have held championships within the UFC so it’s clear to see Chimaev wants to test himself against the best.

It seems both George St-Pierre and Brock Lesnar didn’t respond to Chimaev’s callout however Daniel Cormier did have a few words for the undefeated fighter.

Khamzat Chimaev first called out former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar first asking Lesnar to step into the octagon with him until only one man leaves the cage.

He would then go on to callout former welterweight and middleweight champion George St-Pierre; however, he is still yet to receive any form of response.

His last callout would go to the most recently active of the three in the form of former double champion Daniel Cormier.

‘DC’ responded to Chimaev by suggesting it was a “crazy” move for Chimaev to face him in a real wrestling match.

Unsurprisingly, this didn’t seem to bother Chimaev who seemed excited by the challenge of facing some with Cormier’s credentials.

What’s next for Khamzat Chimaev?

Following on from his victory over Jack Hermanson at Bulldog Fight Night 9, ‘Borz’ will be looking to make a quick return to the octagon and the UFC.

Chimaev brings a hype that many fighters struggle to capture and his performances inside the Octagon only back up his belief that he is the best in the world. Four fights into his UFC contract and with four finishes and only absorbing a single significant strike there is a lot of excitement riding on ‘Borz’ shoulders, and like many of us, I cannot wait to see him step back inside the octagon.

Who should Khamzat Chimaev face in his next outing in the UFC?
