The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum has suffered another roadblock on his way back towards welterweight title contention.

The popular fighter, who has experienced repeated issues with making the welterweight division limit, recently moved back up to 170 pounds before losing a close split decision to Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night Monterrey on November 21. Gastelum soon signed on to face Kyle Noke at January 2’s UFC 195 from Las Vegas, but tonight (Tues., December 22, 2015) news arrived that Gastelum has been forced out of the fight due to a wrist injury.

In his place, welterweight prospect Alex Morono will make his UFC debut on the heels of a five-fight streak, replacing Gastelum against Noke, who recently won a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for his UFC 193 finish of Peter Sobotta in his native Australia.

Their bout will not be on the main card any longer, however, as the lightweight tilt between Abel Trujillo and Tony Sims has now been moved to the pay-per-view (PPV) portion of the event

Featuring the awaited welterweight title showdown between Robbie Lawler and longtime contender Carlos Condit, UFC 195 will go down January 2, 2016, from Las Vegas, Nevada. Andrei Arlovski will take on Stipe Miocic in a pivotal heavyweight co-main event.
