Junior dos Santos and Stipe Miocic were supposed to square off at May 31’s The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Brazil 3 Finale, but the fight unfortunately fell apart when “Cigano” injured his hand.

The blockbuster match-up between the No. 2-ranked dos Santos and the No. 4-ranked Miocic was rumored to be re-booked for UFC on FOX 13 this December. Tonight, the UFC has confirmed that the fight will indeed headline the quickly expanding December 13 event from Phoenix, Arizona.

“Cigano” has been out of action since he suffered his second straight lopsided loss to heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 166 in October 2013. His last win was an ultra-impressive wheel kick knockout of Mark Hunt at UFC 160 back in May 2013.

Miocic last took on late replacement Fabio Maldonado in Brazil, knocking out the light heavyweight in a 35-second squash match. He also beat Gabriel Gonzaga, who will face rising contender Matt Mitrione at this very same event, at UFC on FOX 10 and Roy “Big Country” Nelson at UFC 161.

The rising Miocic’s only loss came to returning heavyweight Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve, who will face a reeling Alistair Overeem after his previously scheduled bout with Mitrione was scrapped after he fainted backstage at July’s UFC 175.

Here’s a full rundown of the UFC on FOX 13 card as is currently stands:
