Josh Thomson vs. Tony Ferguson Video Highlights

UFC Fight Night 71 went down last night (July 15, 2015) from San Diego, California, and although Frank Mir stole the show in the main event, the co-main event, a lightweight battle between former Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson, and rising contender Tony Ferguson, produced fireworks as well.

Although the two men started out fairly even, it was “El Cucuy” who soon took over, as he began to batter “The Punk”, and actually almost finished Thompson in the second round.

Ferguson soon bloodied the former Strikeforce champion, and attempted multiple submissions as well, but just couldn’t put Thompson away, as “The Punk” showed tremendous heart.

At the end of the day, Ferguson proved to be a legit 155-pound contender, scoring a unanimous decision victory in a great fight. Check out the highlights above courtesy of FOX Sports.
