UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo’s scheduled training session that was supposed to take place on today (Tuesday) did not take place but rather be pushed back until Friday. There’s no word as to why the session was pushed back as of this writing.

If Aldo feels comfortable about his training on Friday and the ribs are not hurting him too much then he’ll fight Conor McGregor at UFC 189.

Aldo suffered the injury last week and the news was leaked on Twitter by a local reporter.

As noted, Chad Mendes will be at the event as a “stand by” fighter in case Aldo can’t go.

UFC 189 takes place on July 11, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event will be shown on pay-per-view, Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
