Jorge Masvidal To Attend UFC 246 And Watch Conor McGregor

Dana White

Jorge Masvidal has made no secret of his desire to face Conor McGregor.

After all, it would be the biggest and most lucrative fight of his career. And it sounds like McGregor wants to fight him as well. After the successful year that Masvidal enjoyed in 2019, there would be no better way to kick off 2020 by facing the Irishman.

And although he has many options, a fight with McGregor next is still his ideal choice:

“Yes, I would want that fight because it’s a big money fight,” Masvidal said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday. “It’s a dude who is a two-time division champion and he has an impressive record. He comes to fight. So in that aspect, yes.”

Of course, McGregor faces Donald Cerrone in the UFC 246 headliner which takes place January 18 in Las Vegas. It is notably a welterweight bout, though, McGregor plans on turning around and getting the next title shot at lightweight.

If things don’t pan out that way, it’s possible he faces Masvidal. But first, he has to get past Cerrone and “Gamebred” plans on attending UFC 246 to keep an eye out on what could be a potential future opponent:

“Yeah, I think I’m there,” he added. “There’s a 93 percent chance that I’m there. Yeah [to watch McGregor] — a combo of things. Why not? If he’s a future opponent, why not study him in the live format?”

Perhaps if McGregor wins, we could even see him face off with Masvidal.
