Jon Jones Releases Instagram Video Mocking Daniel Cormier
Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones has released another one of his infamous instagram troll videos…
It seemed like we may never see Jon Jones back in the octagon following his mid-2015 hit-and-run debacle. Hitting the bottom of the barrel following his failed OOC (out-of-competition) drug test before UFC 182, ‘Bones’ ran the risk of falling in to obscurity as he faced felony charges and a potential prison term after his sins in New Mexico. Just seven months later and all seems to be falling back in place.
Getting off light with community service and a small fine, Jones was reinstated by the UFC, and began training for his big comeback. After having his belt stripped and watching old rival Daniel Cormier take the title against Anthony Johnson, clearly ‘Bones’ has become more motivated, and the result in recent photos is a much bigger and muscle-bound Jones. He’s also been back on form with his Instagram trolls.
Before his controversy and downfall as champion, Jones’ trademark outside the octagon was his role as MMA heel. He uploaded countless videos and memes mocking his opponents, and any fans that didn’t support him. The moment he was reinstated, Jones climbed right back on the horse, and his latest effort is just what we are used to with the former champ.
Oh yes, he did, Jon Jones is basically the MMA version of a 13 year old school bully with a smart phone. But, do we love it? Hell yes. It’s time to admit that Jones’ trolling and media gaming is fun, whether it works for or against him is another thing, but he keeps things moving in the 205-pound division, without having fought in a year now.
