When former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones avoided jail time on felony hit-and-run charges in Albuquerque, New Mexico, this week, the main event between former “Bones” foes Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson at last night’s (Sat., October 3, 2015) UFC 192 from in Houston, Texas, took on a new meaning.

After all, both “DC” and “The Mauler” took Jones the distance in recent fights, and both match-ups contained their own controversies that made them two of the most watched and remembered rivalries in UFC light heavyweight history.

Gustafsson’s five-round war with Jones was viewed as the closest test “Bones” has ever endured, and “DC” obviously saw his bad blood with the polarizing former champ taken to a never-before-seen level due to an impromptu brawl at a their now-infamous UFC 178 Media Day faceoff.

Cormier and Gustafsson battled in another classic at UFC 192, and “DC” emerged victorious by split decision. Apparently “Bones” was watching, as he immediately posted an Instagram video where he creepily expressed his itch to get back into the octagon.

“Bones” quickly deleted the post, but MMA History Today caught it, so check it out here:
