Jon Jones Hasn’t Heard From Floyd Mayweather After Initial Meeting

Retired boxing world champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather has long talked about the possibility of promoting mixed martial arts fighters and even expressed interest in former UFC light heavyweight champion and pound-for-pound king Jon “Bones” Jones.

In fact, the interest appeared to be mutual as the two stars had a talk regarding a potential agreement a few months back. The only problem, however, is that Jones hasn’t heard from “Money” since:

“”Floyd Mayweather called me and we had a nice long conversation about doing some things together and I haven’t heard from him since. Floyd, come on man give me a call,” Jones told TMZ this week.

Despite the lack of communication since the initial call, Jones has reiterated his interest in working with Mayweather and the ‘Money Team’ at some point in the future, citing Mayweather’s successes as an intriguing factor:

“Absolutely, I would love to work with Floyd Mayweather,” Jones said. “I really respect a lot of things he’s been able to do in business and he’s inarguably the most successful combatant that’s ever done it.

“Being in line with a great champion like him would be awesome.”

While he may want to focus on building a relationship with “Money” in the future, Jones is currently gearing up for a huge fight. “Bones” is scheduled to rematch bitter rival Daniel Cormier in hopes of recapturing the 205-pound title in the main event of this weekend’s (Sat., July 9, 2016) UFC 200 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
