Jimi Manuwa Sleeps Ovince Saint Preux Despite Slow Start

A light heavyweight contest between Jimi Manuwa (16-2) and Ovince Saint Preux (19-9) served as the third fight on the main card of UFC 204. Manuwa started off slow and engaged in a wrestling battle he was losing. Round two was a totally different story and it resulted in a devastating finish for the “Poster Boy.”

Manuwa pushed his opponent against the fence and landed some hard knees on the break. Saint Preux took Manuwa down briefly. “”Poster Boy” exploded up and went for a guillotine choke as “OSP” went for another takedown. Saint Preux escaped and went for Manuwa’s back. The round ended with both fighters on their feet.

Saint Preux threw out a front kick early in the second stanza. He looked significantly slower in this round. Manuwa landed a left hook followed by a body kick. “Poster Boy” landed a few leg kicks. A jumping knee to the body connected for Manuwa. A huge right hand from Manuwa dropped Saint Preux. “Poster Boy” dropped “OSP” again, but this time it was the point of no return.
