Jason “Mayhem” Miller signs Multi-Fight Contract with the UFC

Jason “Mayhem” Miller has signed a new multi-fight contract with the UFC.

MMAFighting.com first reported the news, which has been confirmed by Miller’s manager Ryan Parsons.

The deal comes following the expiration of Miller’s contract with Strikeforce, for whom he has not competed since defeating Tim Stout in Nashville more than a year ago.  The card is primarliy remembered for the post-fight melee between “Mayhem” and the Cesar Gracie Fight Team, which was the first, and only, event televised on CBS.

Though Miller went on to campaign for a shot at Nick Diaz, who he claimed was at fault for the brawl, the grudge-match failed to materialize when the two couln’t agree on a weight for the bout.  He was, instead, expected to meet Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce: Columbus last month, but was replaced by Melvin Manhoef for unknown reasons.  His only outing over the past year came at DREAM 16, where he submitted Japanese stand-out Kazushi Sakuraba.

Miller, who hosts the hit MTV show “Bully Beatdown,” has not fought under the UFC banner since his 2005 unanimous decision loss to current Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 52.  An exact date for his re-Octagon debut has not been confirmed at this time.
